Our Mission
Western US Teacher Appreciation Charitable Trust was created by veteran Spanish teacher, Muriel Moore, with the knowledge that teachers are the heart of our communities. We recognize too that there is a huge, unjust discrepancy between the low rate of compensation for teachers and the value that these highly-skilled adults add to the quality of life of the communities in which they teach.

Our mission is to provide ways to appreciate and support local teachers without placing any additional tax burden on communities. We know that both families and businesses alike truly want to show their appreciation for teachers in meaningful ways, and our goal is to help them do so.

Initiatives that strive to directly benefit teachers and their families are what our organization is all about. Happy and prosperous teachers are what make happy and prosperous communities. Our current initiative is the creation of Teacher Appreciation Scholarships, to be available exclusively to the college-bound sons and daughters of teachers.
